Forgotten Stories — Part 2: The Spinning Jenny

Around 1764 James Hargreaves created the Spinning Jenny — first with eight spindles — enabling one spinner to produce far more yarn.

Local resistance pushed him to Nottingham. By his death in 1778, over 20,000 jennies were spinning in England.

Together with Arkwright and Crompton, he reshaped textile industrialization.
